Beach Boys

Mlcseaweed_1_1 Mlcsandyhand_1_1_2 Mlcsandytoes_1_1

We spent the weekend in Escondido with some dear friends of many moons.  Miles thought he was in sandbox heaven.  He bravely put his feet at the water's edge and watched his Daddy swim out to sea and play in the waves.  I wondered if he thought of the day when he could join him.

I have not a drop of water in my entire astrological chart, while B is a Pisces and the salty mother cradles him lovingly in her powerful arms.  I seem to bite the bottom when I go out usually getting pummeled by an element that agrees with me better from the shoreline. I don't like seaweedy tendrils tickling my legs.  I'd rather face a bear at twenty feet than know there is a shark a mile offshore.   I can be seen under a big hat or umbrella at the beach, hugging the sand and a book while my boys frolic in the foam- and it suits me just right.

I love to hear the ocean, especially at night.  The soothing sound of the waves makes me dream of mermaids and moonlight.

Hi Pixie,
I love this post! I love the ocean! I love this imagery of your guys out playing while you observe the whole magnificenct picture in front of you: engaging, taking part in your own way.

My Jared and I were *just* talking about (his) water and (my) fire signs and what it meant to be a Cancer and Sagitarious in love. I tend to latch on to any indication of things not working (despite my completely sagitarian / optimistic outlook on life!). Even something as abstract as his tendency toward the mountains and mine towards the sea. It is always affirming to see how our differences can live quite happily alongside. Your post seemed to illustrate these thoughts I was a thinkin' : )

I love seeing your guys out there in the surf!

I've never been drawn to the ocean - as bodies of water go, it's probably the type I get least excited about. Rivers speak to me, as do high mountain lakes. But Descartes loves him some ocean, so we find ways to visit both (though not nearly enough). I love the picture you paint, of dainty old you under luxurious shaded cover, reading and watching your two favorite men play!

XOXO

a lovely perfect, post.
i love the image of being willing to face a bear than entertain the notion of a shark. :)

i'm a florida girl, so i'm obligated to pretend sharks aren't there, but if i had to pick my terror, i agree, it's bears anyday.
