It took a bit longer than expected, because there were so many colorful name options for the 10 foot beauty, now affectionately known as Lunableu Beasty, or for short, Lunableu! Or simply, the Beasty! What I selected was a composite of names separately tossed into the pot, but seemed playful, feminine and exotic, with Luna, which made me think of full moon camping nights. Bleu had a Euro-gypsy flavor to it, and doubled as a tribute to my dearly departed Girly Blue. And Beasty embodied the wild criatura, which I wanted to make sure was somehow represented.
I want to send goodies out to Gemma, Crystal, Megg and Helen for such great suggestions that made the list of considerations. I hope you'll all email me your mailing addresses so that I can get your packages out. There were a host of contenders at Facebook, too, which provided tons of laughs and contemplation.
Ahhhhhh, thank you.
So now onto her beautification. Her island decor has been placed respectfully in storage. I've decided to go in a whole different direction with her wee curtains by borrowing a page out of Chopstix Waits ethnovintage design book (so to speak), who made a skirt for me that I CAN'T WEAR ENOUGH. And I'm also inspired by Julie Bartel's prolific use of batik, so think...lovechild, with a little native flair to make it feel like home.
Fabric teaser:
I've been doing more writing than painting lately, so this project is making my world a bit more colorful in the best possible way. Sitting down at the sewing machine is something I'm looking very forward to, and going to make time for this weekend, as well as another Day of Bundle.
The medicine bundles are flying out the door of my shop, and I want to express gratitude here for that. So many of you are stepping deeper still into your inner work and honoring the creatures who have come to you in the past, or are speaking to you now. I am really enjoying the outpouring of hearts eager to connect their growth and healing processes to the Earth.
Living outdoors whenever possible inspires me to do this in such a natural way. Hence, all of this pretty trailer business. More wild woman outings! I have half a mind to start formally orgainizing these things.
A wee wild woman *loves* this snowflake medallion batik. She threw it on the floor and promptly laid on it to show her approval.
Tell me, what is your idea of a nurturing, healing retreat? What elements do you include to make it magical for you?
Feel free to include links to where you are going, have been, or retreats you are facilitating.
Have a wonderful weekend, goddesses. Milk it. With cookies.
