It's been an interesting few days trying on this dual lifestyle. Needless to say, it wears a work-from-home mama out. There is much scheduling that must take place to reinvent how to best structure my time in order to be able to just...keep up. Ojai was spectacular, full of adventure and roaming a new town, of finding our way around, of ice cream on sprinkle cones and creating comfort as we drove and landed. The babes were troopers, even though I had my moments.
We woke up each morning to a soft marine layer that later gave way to sun and warmth. Something about that hazy air helps me to slow down a bit and breathe.
It seems as though my teaching gigs this year and time away from home results in being able to clear my head, to focus on just one or two things at once. I'm able to let my to-do list sit until I return home to this buzzing office. It could work, if I remember how to nourish myself so that I don't burn out. It's easy to go to sleep early in those quiet hills, which is something I find difficult to do here in the bigger house. It requires safe space, ritual, a comforting place to contain my thoughts on what's coming up for me, and creative expression.
Speaking of being nourished, within the below listed rooms where I open and hold space for you to come, rest and meet your creativity right where it's at, here is where you can find me for the rest of the year. Registration is still open at the following retreats:
Teahouse Art Studio, Berkeley, CA August 20 & 21
Artinfusio, Malibu, CA October 8 & 9
Serendipity Retreats, Outer Banks, NC October 19-23
I look forward to meeting with you and working with your sacred self as we go deep and pull up the gold...
