I have to share this with you. For those who are starting your fires tonight, or burning them tomorrow, I wish you light, ease, heart and love.
Thank you, Erica. I'm awestruck.
*The actual moment of Winter Solstice is supposed to occur on December 22 at 5:30a.m. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). PST to GMT is -8 hours, so here on the West Coast it occurs on December 21 at 9:30pm. Many celebrations took place this weekend, but if you want to make your fire on the darkest night of the year, the 21st or the 22nd would be the best. My calendar says that the first day of Winter is December 22nd. However the sun rises at 5:25am and sets at 5:15 on both the 21st and 22nd, so they are equally short days! The 20th-25th are all equally short days, according to sunrisesunset.com.
